The Naicatchewenin First Nation (NFN) in North-western Ontario received funding from Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) to build their asset management (AM) plan, including awareness and capacity of First Nation staff and leadership (Phase 1).
Dr. Félio was retained as the consultant to lead this work, which included several workshops and the deployment of a self-assessment tool that provided input in the development of an Asset Management Strategy and Roadmap for the community.
In Phase 2 of the project, Dr. Félio worked with NFN staff to collect asset data, build the asset management inventory of the First Nation (including capital replacement valuation and O&M investment Needs) to produce the first AM Plan for the community.
The last step, Phase 3, was to incorporate levels of service and risks into the AM Plan.
